Wednesday Poetry: Fear

FEAR
they fear what they don’t understand.
Call it hate, call it snobbery, elitism.
Call it Holier than thou.
All it is
Is fear.

Let’s be clear, and hold up
our magnifying glass.
Let’s be real,
and take off the mask.
End their charade.

When we want freedom,
we find it comes with a price tag.
When we want justice,
we get its cheap imitation.
When we want Equality,
It comes with terms and conditions.

Self-appointed
Kings and queens
will not remove
their golden crowns
for fear the people
will raise their swords,…
Their insufferable, elitist
Heads will roll.
